SIMPLE PAST
Read this extract from Anne Frank’s diary and put the verbs in the brackets into the Simple Past.
Sunday, 14 June, 1942 - Anne Frank’s birthday
On Friday, June 12th, I _________ (wake up) at six o’clock and no wonder it _______ (be) my birthday. But of course I was not allowed to get up at that hour, so I ________ (have) to control my curiosity until a quarter to seven.
